Standard employment visa: 5–10 working days from MOHRE work permit submission to Emirates ID issuance. Steps include MOHRE work permit (2–3 days), entry permit if outside UAE (3–5 days), medical fitness (1 day), Emirates ID biometrics (1 day), and visa stamping (2–3 days). Premium category roles can be expedited.
How do I qualify for the UAE Golden Visa?
Five main routes as of 2026: real estate investor (AED 2M property), public investor (AED 2M qualifying investment), entrepreneur (audited project worth AED 500k+), specialised talent (PhD, doctor, scientist, athlete), and outstanding student. Applications go through GDRFA Dubai or ICP. Processing takes approximately 30 working days.
Can I sponsor my family on a mainland visa?
Yes. UAE residents earning AED 4,000+/month with attested labour contract can sponsor spouse and children. Earning AED 20,000+/month or holding senior roles can also sponsor parents (with additional medical insurance requirements). Family visas are processed through GDRFA Dubai or ICP for other emirates.
Is Ejari mandatory for visa applications?
Yes in Dubai. The Dubai Land Department's Ejari registration is required to prove residential address before any residency visa application. AED 220 government fee plus typing centre charges. Abu Dhabi uses a different system (Tawtheeq) but the same principle applies — registered tenancy is mandatory.
