What this is

Definition — Tasheel

Tasheel is the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) approved network of typing and document processing centres across the UAE. Businesses use Tasheel to attest employment contracts, process labour cards, file work permit renewals, and submit MOHRE applications. Most Tasheel transactions complete within 24–48 hours. As of 2026, MOHRE requires all labour contracts to be registered through an approved Tasheel centre — no exceptions.

Transaction types

What Tasheel actually files.

Each transaction has its own MOHRE fee, processing window, and required documents. YABS price excludes the government fee, which is billed at cost.

Common mistakes

Where people get this wrong.

Pulled from 500+ YABS engagements. Each pitfall has a knock-on cost in time or AED — knowing them up front is half the value of using a PRO.

Filing the work permit before MOHRE quota slot is available

Cost: Application rejected; AED 250 government fee not refunded; 3–5 day delay re-applying

YABS fix: YABS checks the MOHRE quota balance before every filing. If quota is exhausted, we file the quota amendment first.

Wrong job-title-to-skill-category mapping

Cost: Higher Tasheel fee applied; possible MOHRE re-issue at AED 250 + processing delay

YABS fix: We use MOHRE's standard occupation classification (SOC) to confirm the right category before typing.

Skipping Worker Protection insurance enrolment

Cost: Work permit auto-suspended after 30 days; AED 100/month MOHRE penalty + reinstatement cost

YABS fix: The PRO retainer auto-enrols every new hire into the Worker Protection scheme on day 1.

Cancelling the visa without a final settlement letter

Cost: Ex-employee can file a labour complaint up to 12 months later; bank guarantee held by MOHRE

YABS fix: We require a signed final-settlement-and-no-claims acknowledgement before submitting cancellation.

Frequently asked questions

What is Tasheel?

Tasheel is the MOHRE-approved network of typing centres across the UAE that processes all labour-related transactions: employment contract attestation, work permit applications, labour card processing, complaint filing, and visa cancellations. Every UAE labour transaction goes through Tasheel as of 2026 — no direct MOHRE filings except via approved centres.

How long does a Tasheel transaction take?

Standard transactions complete in 24–48 hours from filing to MOHRE approval. Premium/expedited categories (skilled professional visas, executive transfers) often complete same-day. Cancellation transactions take 1 working day. Complaint filings take 7–14 days for full MOHRE adjudication.

Do I need to visit Tasheel in person?

No — YABS handles all Tasheel filings on your behalf via Power of Attorney or Establishment Card authorisation. The applicant signature can be done via PoA or biometric verification at the typing centre. YABS team visits Tasheel; you don't need to.

What's the difference between Tasheel and Amer?

Tasheel handles MOHRE labour transactions (work permits, employment contracts, complaints). Amer handles GDRFA residency visa transactions (visa stamping, family sponsorship, Emirates ID). They're separate networks for different government bodies. Most businesses use both.

Can YABS handle Tasheel transactions monthly?

Yes — YABS PRO retainer (AED 12,000–24,000/year) covers unlimited Tasheel filings, work permit renewals, employment contract amendments, and complaint handling. Per-transaction pricing also available — AED 250 per Tasheel filing including government fee + YABS service fee + 5% VAT.
