Definition — Medical Fitness
UAE medical fitness test is a mandatory pre-residency screening covering HIV, hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis, syphilis, and leprosy. Conducted by Dubai Health Authority (DHA) approved centres in Dubai and Department of Health (DOH) approved centres in Abu Dhabi. Test takes 30–60 minutes; results issued same day for standard processing or instantly for VIP. Required for every UAE residency visa — employment, investor, family, golden — regardless of nationality or applicant age above 18.

What does the UAE medical fitness test screen for?
HIV, hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis (chest X-ray), syphilis, and leprosy. Pregnancy test for women. Vaccination history check. Results categorised as Fit / Fit with Conditions / Unfit. How long are medical fitness results valid?
Standard medical fitness results valid 90 days from issue date for residency visa stamping. If your visa application takes longer than 90 days (rare), you'd need to re-test. Results delivered electronically to GDRFA/ICP automatically — no need to physically carry the medical fitness certificate to the visa office.
