  2. Pay fees online

    AED 100 per year of validity (renewals typically 1, 2, or 3-year). Express service +AED 150. Standard processing 5–7 working days; express 24 hours.

  3. Visit ICP typing centre for biometrics

    Photograph, fingerprints, signature captured at any ICP-approved typing centre. No appointment needed for renewals; first-time applications may require booking. Typing centre service AED 50–100.

  4. Receive Emirates ID by courier

    ICP couriers the new Emirates ID to your registered address within 5–7 working days standard, 24 hours express. Track via ICP UAE app.

Can I apply for Emirates ID from outside UAE?

First-time application requires UAE residency. Renewals can be initiated from outside UAE if you're temporarily abroad — submit online, pay fees, complete biometrics on return. Late renewal triggers AED 20/day late fee starting 30 days post-expiry, capped at AED 1,000. Better to renew before travelling abroad.

How long does Emirates ID delivery take?

Standard processing: 5–7 working days from biometric submission to courier delivery. Express service (additional AED 150): 24 hours. Premium express service (AED 300): same day for in-Dubai pickup at ICP centres. Delays beyond 7 days are unusual — contact ICP if status unchanged after 10 days.
