What Ejari is, in one paragraph.

Ejari (Arabic for "my rent") is the Dubai Land Department's official tenancy contract registration system. Operating under Law No. 26 of 2007 on the Regulation of the Relationship Between Landlords and Tenants in the Emirate of Dubai (and subsequent amendments), Ejari registers every residential and commercial lease in Dubai for legal enforceability. AED 220 government fee per contract. Required for residency visa applications, Emirates ID issuance, DEWA utility connections, DED trade licence issuance, school enrolment, and most insurance and banking interactions. Registered through a Real Estate Services Trustee Centre, accredited typing centre, the Dubai REST app, or via a PRO firm holding Ejari access.

  • DED trade licence issuance + renewal:Dubai DED requires Ejari for the registered office address on every commercial / professional licence.
  • School enrolment: KHDA schools require Ejari to confirm catchment-area eligibility.
