Basic Requirements to Set Up Your Business in DMCC
Your intended business must be listed in DMCC’s permitted activities (over 2,100 options across sectors like commodities, crypto, tech, and professional services)
A minimum share capital of AED 50,000 is required, with at least AED 10,000 per shareholder. For certain activities like general trading, the capital requirement may be AED 1 million. This amount must be deposited into the company’s UAE bank account within 3 weeks of license issuance.
You must form a legal structure such as a Free Zone Company (FZ-LLC), Branch, or Subsidiary. At least one individual or corporate shareholder is required, and the company can be 100% foreign-owned.
All businesses must lease a physical space within the DMCC Free Zone — options include flexi-desks, serviced offices, or custom office units. The office size must be adequate for the planned number of employees and the business activity.

Step-by-Step Guide to Starting Your Business in DMCC Free Zone

Setting up a company in DMCC is a streamlined and investor-friendly process. Whether you’re a startup, SME, or multinational, DMCC provides flexible office solutions, 100% foreign ownership, zero import/export duties, and access to a global business community.

DMCC Company Setup Process

Step 1: Choose Business Activity & Company Type

Select your business activity from DMCC’s approved list (over 2,100 activities). Then choose the right legal structure – Free Zone Company (FZ-LLC), branch, or subsidiary. This determines your licensing and shareholding setup.

Step 2: Name Reservation & Initial Application

Reserve your company name and submit the initial application with passport copies and chosen activity. Once approved, DMCC issues a provisional approval along with required documentation steps.

Step 3: Submit Legal Documents & Sign Incorporation Papers

Prepare and submit key documents such as the Memorandum & Articles of Association (MAA), shareholder resolution, and proof of address. Sign the incorporation documents online or at DMCC.

Step 4: Choose Office Space & Sign Lease

Select your office option within DMCC — flexi-desk, serviced office, or full space — based on your needs. Sign the lease agreement, which is mandatory for license issuance.

Step 5: Receive Business License

Once all documents are approved and the lease is finalized, DMCC issues your business license. You are now officially registered and can begin operations.
